Describe a time when you had to wait in a long line

  • – when it was
  • – how long the queue/line was
  • – what it was about
  • – how you felt about waiting in this long queue or line.

There are several occasions when I had to wait in a long queue, especially when our president announced the demonetisation of 500 and 1000 rupee notes in 2016, we had to wait in long queues to get our currency exchanged everyday. But here I would like to talk about a different occasion when I faced the same situation.

Actually I was out of my hometown on a holiday. A couple of years ago, I went to Kasauli with my family. And there is a famous tourist spot called monkey point from where the clear view of the neighbouring city, Chandigarh, can be seen. In order to visit that spot, I had to purchase a ticket to pay for the entrance fee. To buy that ticket, there was only one counter and at the front of that counter, there was a long line of visitors. I had no other option but to stand in that line and wait for my turn. After waiting for almost half an hour, I was  just two turns away from paying for the entrance. But suddenly they closed the ticket window and said it would be off for 20 minutes as it was their lunch time. I waited for another half an hour to get the ticket. It was really tiring for me. But when I got the tickets, I was happy and excited to see the spot.

Finally when we reached there, I was amazed to see the scenic view of Chandigarh city. So it was worth waiting in such a long line to get access to this place. We enjoyed it a lot and we clicked many pictures. Because I had so much fun with my family that day, I had no complaints that I had to wait for so long in the line to visit that place.
