5. Writing an invitation letter to a friend for your special celebration. In your letter, you should:

– invite your friend to attend the celebration
– discuss the arrangements/plans you have made
– offer arrangements for travel and accommodation.

Dear Julie,

I hope you are doing well. I’m writing to invite you for a special occasion and I wish you attend it. It is 35 years of togetherness of my parents and I want to make this day special for them. I’ve organised a surprise party for them. Isn’t it great?

I’ve made some plans. The venue for the party would be a restaurant in Kasauli as I know that they went there on their first outing. I’ve invited some close friends and relatives only because I don’t want it to be a mess. We will stay in a hotel for 2 days so that we all can enjoy sightseeing the other day.

You should not worry about travelling and accommodation. I’ll do all the arrangements. I’ve contacted a hiring agency to rent a 15-seater small bus. They have assured that they will make it available. Also, I’ve called a hotel in Kasauli and booked seven rooms for all of us. It’ll be great fun.

I hope you will accompany me.

Yours truly,

ABC.
