2. Write a letter to the local council to stop the closure of a children’s playground in your area. In your letter, you should:

-tell him how important the playground is
-explain why you don’t want to close it
-suggest what advice you want them to take.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am _________, and I live in Model Town, Phagwara. I am writing in connection with the decision of the council to close the playground in our area.

It seems to me that it is not worthwhile to take this step. This playground is the need of every child as they use to play there daily. Various sports activities are done thereby all the teenagers like cricket, football, volleyball and so on, depending on their preferences. Even tournaments have been organised there from time to time for encouraging children to play a variety of games.

I think that this ground should not be closed as there is no other play area for children. If it is locked up, teenagers would not be able to get involved in any sports activities in their free time. Rather, they will play indoor games which would give rise to health issues like obesity.

I would appreciate if the council continues to open this playground for children for their better physical health. If the council needs an open field for the construction of any building then it is better to use open area in the outskirts of the city which is unused. I am looking forward to your positive response.

Yours faithfully,

ABC.
