Some people think that it is the responsibility of companies and individuals, not the government to clean up the pollution they have created.

Some human and industrial activities are contributing to environmental pollution this has led many believe to believe that those who created the pollution such as companies or individuals should be responsible to clean the mess they made. I strongly agree with this due to several reasons.

The primary reason to hold this view is that the business sectors are growing up rapidly by exploring and exploiting the natural resources in lots of areas which are the main reasons of the environmental degradation such as water pollution, air pollution, land contamination and other types of wastes. Companies have to change their unfriendly ways towards environment for which Corporate Social Responsibility is one such step by the companies to behave ethically. it identifies what the company has actually done, in terms of its impact on the environment and society. It is a concept whereby companies decide voluntarily to contribute money to a better society and a cleaner environment. For example, The Tata Group conglomerate in India contributes millions of dollars every year on environment protection programs under Corporate Social Responsibility.

Another point to consider is that individuals can contribute to clean pollution through recycle, reuse, and compost. Recycling involves cutting down on waste and energy consumption by turning used items such as plastic bottles into new items. Reusing involves cutting down on waste by reusing items such as grocery bags. Composting involving using food waste to help create nutrient-rich soil rather than landfill waste. The average American creates 4.3 pounds of waste every day. Much of that waste ends up in landfills, where it produces greenhouse gases that make climate change worse. Some of it ends up in the ocean, where it kills marine life. And, creating new products uses up a lot of energy. Yet, almost all of our waste can be recycled, reused, or composted.

In conclusion, environmental pollution has reached an alarming rate. The government, no doubt, should make efforts to reduce it but the main responsibility to clean it up lies with the business organisations and the people who are causing it.
