Q1. Which type of family do you live in?

A. I live in a joint family. There are 6 members in my family my grandparents, my father, my mother, my sister and myself.

 

Q2. Do you prefer to live in a joint family or nuclear family and why?

A. No doubt, I live in a joint family but I prefer to live in a nuclear family because this system has got many gains. Children are given full freedom and parents have time and money to Cater to the needs of their children.

 

Q3. Do you have intimate relations with other members of the family?

A. Yes. All the members of my family are very nice. We have a very strong bond with one another. All the members of my family take meals together.

 

Q4. Do you think Indian family system is undergoing some changes?

A. In the changing times, family system in India is undergoing some changes. The very structure of the Indian family has changed. Nuclear families are becoming more popular. Parents either have one child or the most two children. And both parents are working now.

 

Q5. Which type of people prefers joint family system?

A. Usually, the rural people and the people running family business prefer joint family system. These people run the hereditary business and so are in the habit of living under the same roof carrying on the family businesses or the professions.

 

Q6. What are the advantages and disadvantages of a joint family system?

A. The joint family system has many advantages. This system teaches some great values like Cooperation, patience, and, coexistence. The young generation learns a lot at the feet of the elders. There is a sense of security and discipline in these families. But there are some disadvantages also. It gives birth to shirkers and mutual jealousies. Usually, we see family clashes in joint families. The interest of the children is compromised here.

 

Q7. What are the advantages and disadvantages of a nuclear family system?

A. In this system, there is full freedom and independence. There is a chance of intimate relations among the members because of their small number. Work culture is promoted here. But this system also has some issues when both the parents are working. Children are not given sufficient time by their parents. There is a risk of their falling in Bad Company. Isolation and lack of security are the main problems in this family system.

 

Q8. Do you have intimacy with your father or mother?

A. I am very intimate with my mother. She is like the best friend to me. I share everything with here She is very tender towards me. No doubt my father also loves me but I am little afraid of him.

 

Q9. Do you have your own room in your house?

A. Yes, I have my own room on the first floor. My parents gave me a separate room when I was in my 10th class. In that room, nobody disturbs me especially when I am studying. I have got all the facilities which a student can dream of.

 

Q10. What have you got in your personal room?

A. I have my own computer and a study table in my room. Study table has lots of draws where I keep all my important notes and books.

 

Q11. Do you spend your weekends with your family?

A. I love to spend my weekends with my parents. My parents generally plan for the weekends and we go to certain places like parks, cinema halls and malls for shopping and outing.

 

Q12. What have you learnt from your grandparents?

A. I have a very warm relationship with my grandparents. I used to sleep with them till I was in 9th standard. I have learnt great values like patience, devotion, commitment and religious faith form them.

 

Q13. Did your family ever face any crisis? When?

A. I still remember when I was in my 5th standard my father meet with a serious accident and was shifted to a hospital. At that time my mother was not working and we were having financial problems. That was a time of crisis in my family.

 

Q14. How did your family tackle that crisis?

A. My grandparents stood like a rock with us. he took the charge of domestic chores at that time.

 

Q15. Who takes important decisions in your family?

A. My parents discuss important issues with my grandparents. They sit together and arrive at some decisions after proper discussion.

 

Q16. With which member of the family, you resemble?

A. I think I resemble my father. Some differences of face structure are there but my eyes nose and the pitch of the voice resemble those of my father.
