  • Well, just a couple of days ago my friend called me and told me she wanted to meet and chat urgently.
  • I was preparing for my IELTS exam, so I didn’t want to waste my time and ask her if we could postpone this get-together until after exam.
  • She said she had to tell me something very important. I asked her to tell me about it on the phone right then if it was so important a piece of information.
  • But she insisted on meeting me face to face. Of course, I couldn’t help agreeing. In the evening we met at a cafe.
  • My friend looked as if she had won a Jackpot. I couldn’t wait to find out what had happened.
  • First, she took out from her clutch something that looked like a greeting card and push it towards me without saying a single word.
  • But everything was written on her face. I took a card and this appeared to be a wedding invitation. And she announced that she is going to get married 2 months later.
  • My jaw dropped on the floor. I was very excited, but surprised when my friend told me how she got engaged in just few days.
  • I listened to her attentively as I knew that she had been dreaming of this moment for a long time.
  • Then she showed me photograph of her fiancée. He looked really handsome and smart. I hugged her and congratulated her.
  • She also told me about his nature and his family. She told me that he is well educated and doing a job in multinational company.
  • I am really happy for her. This was a wonderful piece of news.
