    I know of many workplaces in and around my home town such as industries, banks, and educational institutes.\u00a0Here I am going to talk about a workplace, which is in my hometown and employs a lot of people.\u00a0It is the JCT mill, which stands for Jagatjit Cotton and Textile Mills.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    It is on the G.T. Road.\u00a0This mill was established in 1946.\u00a0The chairman of the company is Mr. M.M. Thapar.\u00a0My uncle works in the HR department of this Mill.\u00a0He tells me a lot about the Mill.\u00a0Many people, nearly around 30,000, work in this Mill and they are proud to be part of this Mill.\u00a0The employer employee relation is very good.\u00a0They provide many facilities to their employees.\u00a0They provide housing at a very low cost to their employees.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Their housing colony is called Thapar Colony. They also provide healthcare facilities for their employees.\u00a0They have a school where the children of their workers can study free of cost.\u00a0This school is affiliated to the Punjab School Education Board.\u00a0The employees live in a world of their own inside the Thapar Colony.\u00a0There is 24 hours power supply.\u00a0They give bonuses and perks to their employees from time to time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    The Mill manufactures cotton fabric.\u00a0Even big names like Raymonds and Siyaram buy fabric from here and sell it under their own tag.\u00a0They have even started manufacturing organic cotton.\u00a0They also export their products. Recently they started their readymade garment section in which they have mass production of Men\u2019s shirts under the brand name of Tyrock. <\/span><\/p>\n

    So, this is the workplace where many people work.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

    Follow-ups<\/span><\/h4>\n

    1<\/strong>. Is it easy to find a job in India?<\/span>
    No, definitely not easy. India is a diverse country and has a population of more than 120 crores. <\/span>Obviously, there is a lot of competition in getting jobs.<\/span><\/p>\n

    2<\/strong>. What should the government do if there is unemployment?<\/span>
    The government should encourage self-employment and also set up cottage industries, so that <\/span>more and more people can be employed. MNCs should also be encouraged, so that the <\/span>problem of unemployment can be mitigated.<\/span><\/p>\n

    3<\/strong>. Is a high salary important?<\/span>
    Yes, a high salary is very important. Money is of course the most important motivation to work. <\/span>But sometimes, it is OK to get a job one loves, even if the salary is a bit less.<\/span><\/p>\n

    4<\/strong>. Is it ok to do a job you like with a low salary?<\/span>
    If I have to choose a job with a slightly high salary, but I don’t like it, then I wouldn’t do it and <\/span>choose the job of my liking. However, if the difference in pay is very high, then I would go for <\/span>that job even if I don’t like it much.<\/span><\/p>\n

    5<\/strong>. Are there many big companies in your country?<\/span>
    Yes, there are. India is a fast developing country. There are many Indian companies, which are <\/span>very big such as Tata, Mahindra, Godrej, Reliance, Onida and so on. There are also many <\/span>multinational giants which have opened branches in India, such as Samsung, LG, Maruti <\/span>Suzuki, Hyundai, and so on.<\/span><\/p>\n

    6<\/strong>. How can a small company grow big?<\/span>
    Small companies can do so in many ways. They can work hard, employ skilled workers, focus<\/span>
    on quality, and employ good marketing strategies.<\/span><\/p>\n

    7<\/strong>. Should big companies donate more to charities?<\/span>
    Yes, they should. I believe that anyone who has enough should help the needy on <\/span>humanitarian grounds. Many big companies help NGOs and NPOs. This is a win-win situation <\/span>for both. When they get publicity for their charity work, they are getting advertisement for <\/span>free.<\/span><\/p>\n

    8<\/strong>. Should big companies be punished more seriously if they break the law?<\/span>
    No, they should not. Law should be the same for all \u2013 big as well as small companies. Usually, <\/span>big companies have big connections. So, they try to get away with their wrongdoings. This also <\/span>should not happen.
