It is generally considered that governments should provide people the right to free university education irrespective of their financial status. In my opinion, I think that offering free university education to everyone would be problematic and therefore, should only be offered to certain special individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A good reason to hold this view is that having free tertiary for everyone would put tremendous financial pressure on the country. Universities would have no income from fees and consequently, they would rely completely on the government for funding. Doing this means taking funds from other much-prioritized areas such as the health care system, in order to allocate money to universities. For the majority of countries, particularly developing and underdeveloped countries, this would not be a financially viable option. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another\npoint to consider is that offering all people free higher education would tempt\nmany people to enter university whether they were interested or not. In other\nwords, rather than choosing to get a job, some young people would opt for doing\na degree to which they only half-heartedly apply themselves. This would not\nonly be a waste of the country\u2019s finance but also a waste of human resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the best solution is to keep university fees but still offer scholarships to gifted students from a poor backgrounds. This would ensure that talented and intelligent students who cannot pay for higher education will still get an education. As a result, society would benefit by getting the right people trained and valuable financial resources would not be wasted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\nconclusion, abolishing university fees is not practical for many countries but\ngiving free places to particular students who have limited financial means is a\nmuch better use of a country\u2019s resources.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
